Juvederm

Juvéderm Voluma has FDA approval as a dermal filler developed specifically to treat the cheeks and mid-face. It’s popular for the smoothness and longevity of its results, which can last for up to two years after the initial treatment. It is also possible to use Juvéderm Voluma in other areas of the face such as the nose, jaw, chin, and even lips, for people looking for a more comprehensive treatment.

Sculptra

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid solution that stimulates collagen production once injected. The collagen then stiffens and supports the skin from within. As a result, the treatment area gradually becomes thicker feeling and better looking, up to the point of tightening the skin slightly over time. The initial purpose of Sculptra was to treat HIV-positive patients, restoring the fullness of their faces that had lost a lot of volume. That’s how it got its FDA approval. And now it is widely used among the general public to give volume to the cheeks and buttocks.

Is There Downtime With Cheek Augmentation?

There is no downtime for cheek augmentation with injectable fillers. While you may experience some redness and/or swelling in the area for a few days following the procedure, you can return to your daily activities immediately. Bruising, swelling, and/or irritation can occur up to two weeks after any injectable treatment.

Are Cheek Fillers For Men, Too?

Yes! An experienced and skilled injector like Dr. Olga Nazarov, PA-C recognizes that men and women often have different aesthetic goals and therefore require different techniques. Are Cheek Filler Injections Safe?

Yes, hyaluronic acid injectable fillers are safe and FDA-approved for use in the cheeks and midface. Olga Nazarov, PA-C recommends that you visit a board-certified injector for your injections to ensure a sterile, medical environment and high-quality treatment result.

Cheek Augmentation Overview

Using injectable fillers, cheek augmentation can take anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour to complete. Olga Nazarov, PA-C will select between Radiesse, Juvederm, or other formulas to augment the cheek area while diminishing the appearance of wrinkles if appropriate. Injections are meticulously placed in locations that will offer natural, even results. This procedure is generally quite comfortable for patients, as the number of injections is based on how much augmentation is needed and can be adjusted for other areas.

Olga takes numerous precautions to make your experience as painless as possible, including using topical numbing cream, ice packs, and mixing cheek fillers with lidocaine to make the injection site seamless. Most patients claim a shot in the arm hurts worse than an injectable treatment performed at Glamour Medical Aesthetics.

After Your Cheek Augmentation

After your cheek augmentation treatment, you may notice mild swelling in the treatment area. This side effect usually subsides within a week. Bruising can also occur and will also diminish in the days following your appointment. These side effects often confuse patients to think they have an unfortunate result. However, we recommend you wait at least one week before evaluating your new look. If you experience excessive swelling, Olga can dissolve Juvederm within minutes using a special dissolving agent designed for this purpose.

Within days, you will begin to see your cheek features settle into their new look. Over the next three to six months, as collagen levels increase within the dermal structure, your enhancements will continue to improve. Your refreshed appearance may last up to two years, depending on the product used and how quickly your body breaks down the filler.
