IPL Laser

What is IPL?

Intense pulsed light (IPL) laser treatment improves the appearance of skin tone and texture after sun exposure. IPL uses multiple wavelengths of pulsating light to target the second layer of the skin and treat a wide variety of skin concerns. Pigmented cells formed from age spots, sun damage, freckles, birthmarks, hair, or rosacea will be zapped away as they absorb the light energy from the laser.

Candidates

Before your IPL laser treatment, us know if you have any skin conditions that could impact the healing process, such as eczema or inflammatory acne. This is not always an effective treatment for people with darker skin complexions or those who often get keloid scars. If you are receiving an IPL treatment for hair removal, the laser usually works best for darker hair since there is more pigment to be targeted.

IPL Laser Treatment

Olga will clean the treatment area and then apply a cool gel onto the skin. You will be given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the flashes of light that come from the IPL laser. The flashes or pulses of light might cause a light stinging, like being snapped with a rubber band. Depending on how large of an area you are treating, this treatment should only take about 20-30 minutes. For optimal results, you will need at least three treatments scheduled about one month apart. Laser hair removal using the IPL laser will require a minimum of six treatments.

By targeting the deeper layers of the skin and avoiding damage to the surface, IPL allows for an easier recovery with fewer side effects. There is no downtime after IPL laser treatment, and you will be able to resume your daily activities immediately after. Your skin will be red, mildly swollen, and slightly sensitive for a few hours but this feeling is often compared to a sunburn. While your skin heals, make sure to avoid sun exposure and heat so that the effects of your newly rejuvenated skin are not reversed.

Results

IPL laser treatment is a permanent solution for hair loss and the results of IPL skin resurfacing will last for months. To maintain your stunning results, avoid sun exposure and take care of your skin with quality skincare products.
