Dysport

What is Dysport?

If you want to restore your youthful glow and eliminate signs of aging, a Dysport injection can help. Like Botox, Dysport is a botulinum toxin A injectable that relaxes the muscles to smooth facial lines and wrinkles. The main difference between Botox and Dysport is a slight differentiation in the formula that allows Dysport to produce results faster.

What Areas Can Dysport Treat?

Dysport was designed to treat frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and wrinkles around the eyes. It can also be used to treat other moderate to severe facial lines. Other injectables are better suited to treat fine lines.

Candidates

Dysport is an effective treatment for almost everyone unless you are pregnant or have an allergy to botulinum toxin A. You should also avoid Dysport if you are lactose intolerant since lactic acid is an ingredient, used for its anti-aging properties.

Dysport Treatment

During your treatment, a small needle will be used to inject the Dysport into the treated area. If you are concerned about the pain, a numbing cream or ice can be applied before your injections. Dysport injections only take about 20 minutes and once you are done, you can leave and continue with your normal routine. After your injections, you may experience mild swelling and bruising for a few days, but this is completely normal and will reduce by itself.

Results

You can expect to see results within a few days and your smooth skin will last for about 3-4 months before you need another treatment.

Can you reverse the effects of Dysport?

The effects are not Reversible. You should wait until the product wears off on its own, typically in 3 to 4 months.

How long does it take for Dysport to kick in?

Typically patients start seeing Dysport results in 2 to 3 days.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Botox is made by the pharmaceutical company Allergan, also the maker of Juvéderm dermal fillers. Dysport is made by the pharmaceutical company Galderma, the maker of Restylane dermal fillers and a biostimulator Sculptra. Botox is made of a larger protein complex vs Dysport. This means Botox is more precise and spreads less. Dysport can provide better results in specific areas because of increased product diffusion. You will typically see maximum Botox treatment results within 10-14 days. Dysport has a quicker onset, and patients usually see full results in 3-7 days. Typically a unit of Botox is the same as 3 units of Dysport. So, if a patient needs 20 units of Botox, the same patient will need about 60 units of Dysport for equal results. Overall, both neuromodulators are very effective and are excellent choices for smoothing wrinkles and reducing visible wrinkles. Allergan and Galderma (the parent companies of Botox and Dysport) have made loyalty programs to earn points to generate discounts on your treatments and products! With Allergans rewards program-Alle and Galdermas loyalty program-Aspire, you can earn points that convert them to a dollar amount to redeem towards future cosmetic procedures.

How often should I get Dysport?
