What is Hand Rejuvenation?

Did you know that your face is not the only area that can show telltale signs of aging? Your hands can as well, especially when they are wrinkled, show prominent veins, and have lost fatty tissue. At Glamour Medical Aesthetics, we offer hand rejuvenation to restore lost volume, minimize visible veins and tendons, and provide smooth, natural-looking, and long-lasting results.

Adults who are bothered by the appearance of their aging hands can often benefit from hand rejuvenation treatment. However, you should not receive this treatment if you have an active infection in or near the injection site, have a history of severe allergies, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are interested in learning if this treatment is right for you, contact our office to schedule a consultation.

Hand Rejuvenation Treatment

To begin your hand rejuvenation treatment, the skin will be cleansed, and a topical numbing cream may be applied to ensure your comfort. Radiesse or Restylane Lyft dermal fillers will then be injected under the skin of the back of the hand using a needle or a blunt microcannula. Once your hands are plumped, you will no longer be able to see noticeable wrinkles, tendons, or veins. Each hand usually requires one syringe of dermal filler.

The overall procedure takes 5-10 minutes. Immediately after injection, your hands will be gently massaged to evenly distribute the filler material.

You may experience redness, bruising, or swelling immediately after the procedure lasting for a few days. Ice packs should be applied to minimize swelling and bruising, and you should refrain from vigorous hand use for 24 hours. The results of hand rejuvenation can last up to 12-18 months.

Hand Rejuvenation FAQs

Are fillers the only option for a hand rejuvenation?

Fillers, chemical peels and lasers can all improve the appearance of your hands. Dermal fillers will give you more volume. Biostimulators can give you volume and collagen stimulation. Chemical peels will rejuvenate the skin and improve hyperpigmentation, and lasers will smooth and tighten loose skin or improve the appearance of sun spots.

How often should I receive hand rejuvenation treatments?

Hand rejuvenation with dermal fillers can last for 1-2 years but you may want to maintain your results with additional injections after a year or earlier.
