Xeomin

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin is often referred to as the “naked” Botox because it uses a purified form of botulinum toxin A without the extra proteins and additives found in Botox. A major benefit of this purified form is that there is less risk of developing antibodies against the injectable so you can use Xeomin for longer and still enjoy the same stunning effects.

What Areas Can Xeomin Treat?

Xeomin is mainly used to treat frown lines, the two vertical lines on your forehead just between the eyes. It can also be used to treat other facial lines and wrinkles and medical conditions not normally treated by other injectables. Xeomin is an approved treatment for muscle spasms in the neck, eyelids, and limbs. Additionally, it can be used to treat excess salivation or drooling.

Candidates

Almost anyone who wants to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles is a candidate for Xeomin. The main cause for concern is if you are allergic to botulinum toxin A or other ingredients found in the Xeomin formula. You should also wait to receive treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Xeomin Treatment

Depending on the area being treated, your Xeomin injection will take 10-30 minutes. A tiny needle is used to administer the injectable and is relatively painless for most patients. However, if you are concerned about the pain a topical anesthetic or ice can be used to numb the area.

One major benefit of this quick injectable treatment is that there is no downtime. However, you should avoid strenuous activity and not massage the area for 24 hours after your treatment so that the injectable does not shift. Slight bruising and swelling may occur but will subside in a few days.

Results

You will see your results in about four days after this swelling subsides and can enjoy your rejuvenated appearance for 3-4 months.
