What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) injectable that naturally stimulates your body’s natural collagen production to plump the skin and smooth deep lines and creases. Collagen is one of two proteins found in your skin that gives it volume, structure, and elasticity for a youthful appearance. As we age, collagen production decreases which leads to loose skin and wrinkles. Sculptra restores that facial volume and can be used in a variety of places, not limited to the face.

What Areas Can Sculptra Treat?

At Glamour Medical Aesthetics, Olga offers the Sculptra butt lift (link) and Sculptra facial injections. When injected into the face, Sculptra fills the cheeks, redefines the jawline, and smooths creases around the mouth, nose, and chin.

Whether you want to rejuvenate your appearance for a youthful glow or to enhance the volume in your buttocks, Sculptra’s versatile formula can help you achieve your desired results. If you have an active skin infection or are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, you may have to wait to receive your treatment. You should also inform Olga if you have a history of keloid scarring. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications a few days before your treatment since this can increase swelling.

Sculptra Treatment

Sculptra is a quick treatment that takes no more than 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Most Sculptra treatments are administered as a series of three injections every few months. These injections are minimally painful, but a topical anesthetic can be applied to ease your discomfort and worry. No downtime is required so you will be able to leave and resume your daily routine immediately after treatment. Minor swelling and bruising are common after Sculptra injections, but these side effects will subside in a few days.

Since Sculptra works by activating collagen production in your body, it may take a few weeks for the collagen to build up and reveal your complete results. The wait is worth it because you can expect your new enhancement to last up to 2 years!

Can sculptra migrate?

Sculptra doesnt migrate to different areas.

How do I prepare for Sculptra?

You should avoid alcohol 24 hours before treatment. Alcohol can slow the healing process and increase bruising. Likewise, you should avoid the use of NSAIDs and aspirin for at least one week. It is also important that you stop certain products a week before treatment, including essential fatty acids, vitamins A and E, flax oil, green tea, garlic supplements, and Ginkgo Biloba.

How long does Sculptra last?

Sculptra is FDA approved to last at least 25 months, but according to the latest clinical studies, it can last much longer than that.

Why do I have to massage Sculptra?

All patients are encouraged to massage the treated areas 5 times per day, 5 minutes each time for 5 days post-injection treatment. The reasoning behind the massaging is to keep the Sculptra particles finely dispersed so that they lead to even and smooth results.
